It’s a very interesting dare to look up close and see how El Greco painted Jesus with a little wrap around his waist. But not only that, there are also great details in the skulls at Jesus’ feet, which comment on vanity. I really like the transition of the human existence. Certainly his painting must be scandalous in his time. Beautiful, beautiful! Centre For Fine Arts Brussels, Belgium is showing EL Greco highlights until May 2010. After this exhibition the series will return to the Museo de El Greco in Toledo, which it will never leave again.
